A Big Burpee Thank You!

Just Believe Thank You

Here’s a cute little thank you card with a gardening surprise inside. It’s made to open and close like a matchbook so it will hold a packet of seeds. This was the last of the four thank you cards we made at my Stamp A Stack. We used the “Just Believe” stamp set to stamp the flowers which are absolutely gorgeous. So what better to put inside than a little packet of flower seeds.

This card is made by cutting your card base at 4-1/4″ x 11. Score at 1″ and 6-3/8″. Fold up the bottom edge at the 1″ mark and staple twice close to the bottom (about 1/4″ in) like a matchbook. This will give you your pocket for your seeds. Then fold down the top and tuck it inside to close your card. To hide the staples just be sure to make a cover strip to add at the bottom of your card like I did here with the flowers and with stars on this card sample.

I made this card a couple of years ago for a child’s birthday party, so it’s a little worse for wear and unfortunately the stamp set is retired. But it gives you another idea you can use for this type of card. It contains those cool “Pop Rocks” that kids love. Surprise!

Supplies: Stamp Set: Just Believe; Cardstock: Perfect Plum, Pear Pizzazz and Whisper White; Ink: Pear Pizzazz and Perfect Plum; Accessories: Fiskars Paper Cutter with Scoring Tool, Oval Punch and Scallop Oval Punch, Dimensionals, Basic Pearls, Stapler and Burpee Seed Packs.

A Manly Birthday

Manly Happy Birthday Card

It’s a rare occasion that I make a manly card. For one thing I don’t own many manly stamps and for another I have a hard time not adding ribbon to a card!  Frankly, I just don’t find them as much fun to make as one that includes ribbon or glitter. LOL!  In the Punch Bunch stamp set you will find an assortment of stamp images for different occassions, but this great Happy Birthday image fits the bill and makes for a quick birthday card.  The bold HB stands out along with the Not Quite Navy cardstock.  I think the strips of cardstock could count as ribbon, don’t you?  To add texture I ran some striped Designer Series Paper from the Springtime Vintage paper pack through my Big Shot using the Textured Impressions “Square Lattice” Embossing Folder and then sponged Certainly Celery across the embossed image to add more depth.  Added an antique brad to complete the manliness.  What do you think – is it manly enough?

Supplies:  Stamp Set:  Punch Bunch; Cardstock:  Very Vanilla, Not Quite Navy, and Certainly Celery;  Designer Series Paper:  Springtime Vintage; Ink: Not Quite Navy; Accessories:  Big Shot, Textured Impressions Square Lattice Embossing Folder, Antique Brads, Stampin’ Dimensionals and Sponges, Scallop Square Punch and 3/4″ Circle Punch.

Birthday Flurries!

A flurry of butterflies that is! You probably thought it had something to do with snow – huh? Even though there is a weather advisory for a chance of snow tomorrow, I thought I would post this card to cheer everyone up. Aren’t these bright spring colors?  I made this card for my friend, Tanya. It’s her mom’s birthday and she said her mom loves that saying:  Live, Laugh & Love so I made sure to place it on the front of the card and not inside with the birthday saying.

Live, Laugh & Love

That beautiful branch with the flowers is actually a sneak peak at one of the sets from the upcoming Mini Occaisions Catalog called “Easter Blossoms”. All the butterflies were made with the “Big Shot” and “Beautiful Wings” Embosslits Die. The Beautiful Wings die not only cuts out different sizes of butterflies but it also embosses each one of them with a different design.  You can begin ordering the Easter Blossoms stamp set and a bunch of other cool stuff beginning January 4. If you would like a Mini Occasions catalog, please comment below and I will be happy to send you one.  Check out those cute little heart buttons in the bottom right of the card – you can get them for FREE! Check my website out on December 17 for all the details on how to get a package of Bitty Buttons for free when you order the new “Filled With Love” Bundle which features the “Filled with Love” stamp set from page 43 of the Holiday Mini Catalog and an exclusive package of Designer Series paper. Valentine’s Day will be here before you know it and you will want to be prepared!

Supplies:  Stamp Sets:  Easter Blossoms, On Your Birthday & Itty Bitty Backgrounds (retired); Cardstock:  Whisper White, Marina Mist & So Saffron; Ink and Markers:  Marina Mist, So Saffron & Soft Suede; Accessories:  Big Shot, Beautiful Wings Embosslits Die, Eyelet Border Punch, Whisper White 5/8″ Organza Ribbon, Bitty Buttons, Basic Pearls, & Stampin’ Sponges. Card size is 5-1/4″x5-1/4″.

Ladybug Birthday!

Ladybug Birthday Card

My little neighbor, Hannah, had her 5th birthday party last weekend and ladybugs was the theme! So I made this Ladybug card to go with the Stampin’ Up! Hostess Level 1 stamp set “Love Bug” I was going to give her for a gift.  I also included a gift card set along with the stamp set so she could make her own cards, a Basic Black Stampin’ Spot and tucked in a little money as well. What girl doesn’t want to go shopping with her own cash!  I made the ladybug using the Sizzix Big Shot and dies.  I cut an extra Whisper White Scallop Circle to place on the back to write my sentiment. This was a very quick and easy card to make.

Card Supplies:  Cardstock:  Basic Black, Real Red, Whisper White; Ribbon:  Black Gingham and 3/4″ Real Red Polka-Dot Grosgrain; Punches:  1-3/4″ Circle Punch and Standard Hand-Held Notebook Punch for the dots (Not SU!), Sizzix Big Shot, Sizzix Bigz Die Scallop Circle #2.
