Blissful Bunny Treat

Blissful Bunny Treat

Here is a cute little bunny treat for your Easter honey! These little pouches are so easy to make using the Petal Cone die. This pouch was made before Sale-A-Bration ended last month using the Bliss stamp set which is unfortunately no longer available.  However, if you mention this posting to me FIRST at the Home and Garden Expo this Saturday in Easton you can win this cute little bunny pouch and take him home with you!  I will be at the Talbot Community Center in the curling rink which is the new Craft Room during the Expo on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.  I will be there on Sunday as well from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. I will also have some other pouches available for purchase along with a few other goodies pictured here.  Sorry about the photo. I had to run outside and take this pic on my porch before the sun went down.  The best thing about these pouches is that after you use them for a treat, you don’t have to throw them away. They make great little covers for your Stampin’ Up!’s paper snips and protects the tips of your scissors.

Home and Garden Expo Treats

Hopefully I will be back to posting on a regular basis again.  I was not feeling well and had to spend the months of March and April going to the doctors and getting better.  Look for new class postings in May as well.

Springtime Easter Blooms

I truly cannot wait for spring to arrive so here is a heaping spoonful of it times three with cards I created back in January using the new Easter Blooms stamp set.  For this first card I used the Springtime Vintage Designer Series Paper for the background.  I also used one of the stamps from the Clearly for You stamp set for the backing on my beveled window pane and finished off my image with a small Vanilla Rosette.

Springtime Vintage Easter Blooms

And that is the new Rose Red Seam Binding Ribbon gathered across the middle of the card – so easy to do. How? Cut a length of ribbon 1-1/2 times the length of your card. Glue under the left side of the ribbon using a little monoadhesive. On the right side of your piece of ribbon start fraying the end and then grab one of the single strands from the center of your ribbon and start pulling slowly pushing the gathering towards the left side of your ribbon. Keep pulling until it is the length you need for your card. Set aside and then place a length of Sticky Strip across your card. Remove the pink backing and begin adhering your ribbon folding under the right side of the ribbon on the end to give a smooth finish on your card. I love making vintage cards!

Supplies:  Card 1 – Stamps:  Easter Blooms and Clearly for You; Cardstock:  Always Artichoke, Rose Red, and Very Vanilla; Ink:  Always Artichoke and Rose Red; Designer Series Paper:  Springtime Vintage; Accessories:  Basic Pearls, Rose Red Seam Binding Ribbon;  Vanilla Rosettes, Beveled Window Panes, Punches:  Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pak, XL Scallop Oval, XL  2″x1-3/8″ Oval, Sticky Strip,  and Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Happy Easter!

The second card uses the new Textured Impressions Framed Tulip Embossing Folder. Love, love, love the way it frames out a card. So elegant!  The silhouette image of this little girl is so precious and easy to stamp. She is definitely all about the spring thing with her little basket of Easter eggs and bouguet of flowers skipping barefoot through the grass.
I once again used another stamp from the Clearly for You set (the small butterfly) to add a little something extra along with a few Basic Pearls.  Who wouldn’t want to receive a special card like this for Easter?
Supplies:  Card 2 – Stamps:  Easter Bloosm and Clearly for You; Cardstock:  Old Olive and Whisper White; Ink: Old Olive; Designer Series Paper:  Subtles Patterns Designer Series Paper Stack – So Saffron; Accessories:  Basic Pearls, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Textured Impressions Framed Tulips Embossing Folder, and Big Shot.
The third card uses the lovely branches from the Easter Blooms stamp set.  I wanted to show off all their beauty so I made a larger card at 5-1/4″x5-1/4″.

Branching Out For You

I’m still getting used to all the new Stampin’ Up! color combinations and went of of the box on this one with Tangerine Tango and Pacific Point!   I added a Brights brad in Tempting Turquoise to one of the Filigree Brads to really add something special to the image of our little girl once again.  And I coudn’t resist adding a tiny Basic Pearl to her hair!

Here’s to hoping that Spring is right around the corner!
Supplies:  Card 3 – Stamp Sets:  Easter Blooms and Clearly for You; Cardstock:  Tangerine Tango, Pacific Point, and Whisper White; Ink:  Tangerine Tango and Pacific Point;  Accessories:  Punches:  Scallop Trim Corner, Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border and 3/4″ Medium Circle, Filigree Brad, Brights Brad, Stampin’ Dimensionals, and Whisper White 5/8″ Organza Ribbon.

Birthday Flurries!

A flurry of butterflies that is! You probably thought it had something to do with snow – huh? Even though there is a weather advisory for a chance of snow tomorrow, I thought I would post this card to cheer everyone up. Aren’t these bright spring colors?  I made this card for my friend, Tanya. It’s her mom’s birthday and she said her mom loves that saying:  Live, Laugh & Love so I made sure to place it on the front of the card and not inside with the birthday saying.

Live, Laugh & Love

That beautiful branch with the flowers is actually a sneak peak at one of the sets from the upcoming Mini Occaisions Catalog called “Easter Blossoms”. All the butterflies were made with the “Big Shot” and “Beautiful Wings” Embosslits Die. The Beautiful Wings die not only cuts out different sizes of butterflies but it also embosses each one of them with a different design.  You can begin ordering the Easter Blossoms stamp set and a bunch of other cool stuff beginning January 4. If you would like a Mini Occasions catalog, please comment below and I will be happy to send you one.  Check out those cute little heart buttons in the bottom right of the card – you can get them for FREE! Check my website out on December 17 for all the details on how to get a package of Bitty Buttons for free when you order the new “Filled With Love” Bundle which features the “Filled with Love” stamp set from page 43 of the Holiday Mini Catalog and an exclusive package of Designer Series paper. Valentine’s Day will be here before you know it and you will want to be prepared!

Supplies:  Stamp Sets:  Easter Blossoms, On Your Birthday & Itty Bitty Backgrounds (retired); Cardstock:  Whisper White, Marina Mist & So Saffron; Ink and Markers:  Marina Mist, So Saffron & Soft Suede; Accessories:  Big Shot, Beautiful Wings Embosslits Die, Eyelet Border Punch, Whisper White 5/8″ Organza Ribbon, Bitty Buttons, Basic Pearls, & Stampin’ Sponges. Card size is 5-1/4″x5-1/4″.

Successful Spring Open House!

Held my Open House this weekend and loved seeing my customers, old as well as new! We enjoyed good company, good food (chili on Friday night and chicken salad on Saturday) and some fun projects which I designed with the beautiful Cottage Wall Designer Series Paper. The colors featured in this paper packet are Orchid Opulence, Old Olive and Rich Razzleberry.

6x6 Spring Scrapbook Page

The first project was a 6×6 Spring scrapbook page. I stamped the medallion on Whisper White cardstock, punched it out with a circle punch, mounted it on the Small Round Metal Edge Tag, added a white half pearl from the Pretties Kit and popped it all up with dimensionals making a beautiful spotlight on this small page.  You can always add this smaller page to a 12×12 page by adding more designer series paper onto your 12×12 cardstock and then your 6×6 will become your focal point or embellishment on the page.

Mother's Day Card with Matching Envelope

The second project was a Mother’s Day card using those beautiful large flowers from the Stampin’ Up! Pretties kit. They are originally white, but we dyed this one a Rich Razzleberry by using an Aqua Painter and dipping it into some Rich Razzleberry ink and painting it onto the flower. You should start light and add more color as you go along.  The shade you desire is all up to you.

Scallop Bag Easter Treat

The third project was a cute little Easter treat bag using the Sizzix Big Shot and the Bigz XL Scallop Bag die. It’s extremely easy to put these little bags together with a few strips of Sticky Strip and would make great favor bags for a wedding.

Spring/Easter Scrapbooking Layouts

Here are the scrapbooking layouts for my Spring Stamp Camp which will take place on Tuesday, March 16 from 7-10 p.m.  The same layouts will also be available for all the ladies who will be attending the Sophisticated Socials Ocean City Crop the weekend of March 19-21.  Don’t forget to register by Saturday, March 13 by sending me an e-mail to sweadon@hotmail.com.

The first layout shown is an Easter two-page layout featuring the Lovely Letters Alphabet and the cute little Chocolate Bunny from the Mini Occasions catalog.

Easter Layout - Page 1

I wheeled the background of the paper using the Watercolor Vine and Creamy Caramel ink. The wheels are a quick tool for making your own special background paper and are easy to use.  I’ve only added a few photograph mats using the Top Note Die, but you may add additional ones if you have more photos. The little flowers on the corners are a nice attention to detail.

Journal - Page 1

I’ve also included a close up of the journal box on this page.

Some scrappers think you can’t use stamps to make a scrapbooking layout, but if you take this class, you will see how you can’t live without them! I learned to scrap this way – you can make all your own embellishments, especially if you have the right stamp sets. And one can never have too many stamps! LOL! Stampin’ Up! stamp sets are great because they coordinate with each other and usually feature one or two main images and a few for accents and background stamping.

Easter Layout - Page 2

The second page of the layout includes the Chocolate Bunny. This stamp is a definite keeper and the price is awesome for this little guy – only $7.95! I used the new Tiny Tags set to give him a cute little tag and attached it with some linen thread.

Here is a closeup of the bunny – doesn’t he look just delicious!

Chocolate Bunny - Page 2

Supplies:  Stamp Sets:  Chocolate Bunny, Lovely Letters, Tiny Tags, Itty Bitty Backgrounds and Matchbox Messages; Cardstock: So Saffron, Brocade Blue, Creamy Caramel and Very Vanilla; Inks:  Creamy Caramel, Brocade Blue, Basic Brown, Creamy Caramel Ink Catridge for Wheel; Accessories:  Jumbo Wheel Handle, Jumbo Watercolor Vine Wheel, Linen Thread, 5/8″ Brocade Blue Grosgrain Ribbon, Paper Piercing Tool & Mat Pack, Punches: 1-3/8″ Circle, 1-3/4″ Circle, Tiny Tags, Small Oval, Scallop Oval and Trio Flower, Rich Regal Brads – Brocade Blue, Stampin’ Sponges, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Sizzix Big Shot, Bigz Tope Note Die, and Bigz Scallop Envelope Die.

Spring will be here in one week and I can’t wait for it after one of the worst winters in years here in Maryland. Say goodbye to the snow and bring on the flowers along with the Shades of Spring:

Shades of Spring Layout - Page 1

I used the Upsy Daisy stamp set to give me that great row of flowers at the bottom of my layout. Solid image stamps like this one are great for making borders.

Shades of Spring Layout - Page 2

The Level 1 Hostess stamp set “Of the Earth” has wonderful images of Spring and I’ve been wanting to use it for awhile now, but needed just the right reason. And I think I found it in this layout. The images from this set made for beautiful embellishments and awesome additions to these pages.

Spring Layout Tag Embellishment

You’ll find as you look through the Idea Book & Catalog that Stampin’ Up! has some of the best artists creating their images and there are many more like the ones featured in this Hostess set. I used the Sizzix Bigz Two Tags Die to make the white tag background on this particular embellishment. It’s the same one I used in my previous post to make the bookmark.

Friendship Embellishment

A technique I used on the flowers in the Friendship Embellishment is one called “Thumping”. You start out by inking up your main image in a light colored ink, then take a Stampin’ Marker of coordinating dark ink and while holding your stamp upside down “thump” the marker onto your image randomly. Then “huff” on your stamp to rewet the image and then stamp down onto your paper. I know it sounds silly, but it really does rewet the ink. This technique gives you the multi-colored image shown on the embellishment to the right.

I am excited to be doing some scrapbooking layouts at last as many of my customers have been asking for them. See you in class or down the ocean Ladies!

Sherindipity Stampers!

Yesterday I held my first get together of the new year with my team, the Sherindipity Stampers. We had a wonderful lunch, shared ideas and then we got down to stamping. Thanks Ladies for attending!  Here is the first of 4 projects I created for them to stamp:

Vintage Vogue Wood Bookmark

This bookmark was made using Sizzix Bigz Two Tags Die and Texture Cuts Wood Sheets. The Wood Sheets are backed with a sturdy paper on the reverse to maintain the integrity of the wood sheets. When running the wood sheets through the Big Shot with the die, make sure you turn the wood side of the sheet towards your die to make sure you get all the imprints of the die around the edges of the tag.  Click on the picture to see the details up close.  I like the way the ink tends to blur alittle on the wood giving it that old vintage feel.  The Vintage Vogue stamp set is by far my favorite stamp set from the Mini Occasions Catalog and it made all these beautiful little flowers and vines.  The butterflies were made with the Sizzix Beautiful Wings embosslits die.  This die is one of our more popular and they make the perfect addition to any project.  There are 5 different sizes of butterflies on this die and 3 sizes are shown on this bookmark.  If you would like to make one of these bookmarks for free, please attend my Spring Open House on March 26 from 12-8 p.m. and March 27 from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.

Vintage Vogue Easter Basket

The second project we made are these cute little Easter baskets!  If you would like the pattern, please e-mail me at sweadon@hotmail.com.  You can make them as small as you like or go for the big one using a 12×12 piece of cardstock. I went with a 9×9 piece of cardstock which makes a nice medium sized basket.  These are great gifts for teachers, co-workers or a neighbor.  Fill it with candy, a small potted flower or a baked good and you have a nice little Spring surprise!  Again I used the Vintage Vogue stamp set because I love those little flowers and the half pearls from the Pretties Kit make for lovely centers on them.

We then made two cards, one for Easter and one for a friend.  Both of these cards are simple to make and require only a few supplies.

Abundance of Hope Easter Card

If you would like to stamp or scrap, enjoy making new friends and would like to become a Sherindipity Stamper also, feel free to e-mail me at sweadon@hotmail.com.

Trio Flower Punch Easter Egg

I made this Easter Egg while at a crop two years ago, but since the Stampin’ Up! Trio Flower Punch is still in the current Idea Book & Catalog I thought I would post it. Since this punch makes three flowers at one time, the prep work went fairly quickly. It does take alittle time though to insert the push pins and to make sure you have the colors evenly distributed around the egg.  I was so happy when I found these bright colored sewing pins to adhere the flowers to the styrofoam egg – makes the flowers look really pretty. I then added a ribbon to hang the egg and added two silk flowers around the ribbon.  The final step was to add one Clear Teardrop and one Clear Round Bead from the Pretties Kit to the bottom with some gold cording.   Here is what you will need to complete this egg:  Cardstock:  Almost Amethyst, Gable Green and Pink Passion; Accessories:  Stampin’ Up! Trio Flower Punch, Pretty in Pink Taffeta Ribbon, Clear Round and Teardrop Beads from the Pretties Kit, Gold Cording, styrofoam egg, brightly colored sewing pins to match your flowers, and 2 or 3 silk flowers.

Signs of Spring with Vintage Vogue!

Vintage Vogue Easter Jar

With Easter and Spring just around the corner and mother nature not cooperating, I decided to make my own Spring happen!  With that said, how about some beautiful Spring bird eggs! These are Mighty Malts Speckled Malted Milk Eggs I picked up from my local Giant. Don’t they look like the real thing?  I put them into this cute plastic container that I saved from some Bruschetta I purchased over the last holiday season. The Bruschetta was good, but I think these will taste even better!  In fact, I already sampled one! Yum!  One whole bag of the eggs fit into this container (19 oz).  I cleaned the remnants of the glue from the plastic wrapper off of the container with some Goo Gone, cleaned it thoroughly with Dawn dishwashing liquid, but it had a slight film on the jar, so I then wiped it down with 91% alcohol and then washed thoroughly again. Just like new! I love recycling!

I used the stamp set Vintage Vogue to stamp all the images. Absolutely love this set and vintage! This set is available in wood mount or Stampin’ Up!’s new clear mount. I purchased it in clear mount to try them out and they stamped just as well as the wood mount. I dyed my ribbon again using Basic Brown ink (see my previous post of 2/22/10 for instructions). The color of the ribbon turned out beautifully. The base tag and butterflies were made with the Big Shot and Stampin’ Up! Two Tags Bigz Die and Embosslits Beautiful Wings Die. To finish the jar off just right I decorated the top as well with more flowers and butterflies for a full 3-D effect.

Stamp Sets:  Vintage Vogue and Well Scripted; Cardstock:  Pretty in Pink, Whisper White and Bashful Blue; Ink: Basic Brown and Pretty in Pink; Accessories:  Whisper White Organza Ribbon, Chocolate Chip Corduroy Buttons, Sending Love Chocolate Chip Epoxy Brads, Stampin’ Sponges, Linen Thread, Sticky Strip, Stampin’ Dimensionals.
