Mocha Morning Graduate

Spring is in the air, but the end of the school year will be here before you know it. So here is a little Mocha Morning for your graduate!  The wording on this card is from Word Play and is one of my favorite stamps from the set and very versatile – works for graduation, new job or retirement.  And the Early Espresso ribbon and the mini library clip definitely are perfect embellishments for this card.  Get your Mocha Morning Specialty DSP before it’s gone!

Here’s another project using this great DSP from a class I took at the North Carolina Retreat. My friend Bonnie Henderson taught this beautiful Frame Class and I really loved making the flowers out of Mocha Morning Specialty DSP.   Check out the texture on the leaves – she showed us how to use the Spider Web Textured Impressions Embossing Folder to make the veins on the leaf. So cool!

Two Grads in the Family

Both of my beautiful nieces graduated this year and so I have been busy making cards and announcements. The first card I made for my sweet niece, Brianna, who stepped in to help me out last year with my stepson, Donnie, while my husband was in the hospital and out of work on disability for 7 weeks.  Brianna was home-schooled and will be going on to Harford Community College in the Fall.

The next photos are of the announcement I made for my wonderful niece, Heather, who graduated from South River High School.  She is a very hard worker and has  been working at the Hair Cuttery for two years now and will be taking her final test soon to get her cosmetology license.  She will be attending Anne Arundel Community College in the Fall.

Heather did not want the traditional announcements that you can purchase from school so I created a sample and then got together with Heather and her mom on a Sunday afternoon.  We got our production line going with the two of them doing all the sponging of ink, itty bitty dotting, and glueing and I did the stamping, layering and construction of the announcements. We made 35 of them to give to her closest friends and family.  It’s a cute little three way card that can be kept open and on display for all to see.

Congrats to both Brianna and Heather! I am so proud of you!
