Mocha Morning Valentine

This is a just a quick blog entry to show you the card I made for my hubby for Valentine’s Day.  It is an Easel Card and was very easy to make.  I viewed Brian Pilling’s video from Stampin’ Up! to get all my measurements and scoring lines for construction. This card went together quickly especially when I could use my Simply Scored Tool to make all my scoring lines. Easel cards are great because it allows you to display your card creation, but it can also fold flat for mailing. No special mailing required. My hubby loved the fact that he could keep the card out for display on his dresser. I used my Perfect Bow Maker to make the bow on this card.

Supplies:  Stamp Sets: Loving Thoughts, Take It To Heart and Style Beautiful; Cardstock:  Whisper White, Crumbcake, and Basic Black; DSP:  Mocha Morning; Ink:  Craft Black Ink; Accessories:  Simply Scored Tool, Embossing Heat Gun, Clear Embossing Powder, Large Pearl Basic Jewels (8 mm), Hearts Collection Framelit Dies, Big Shot, 5/8″ Whisper White Organza Ribbon, Stampin Dimensionals.

Here is  Brian Pilling’s Easel Card Video from Stampin’ Up to help you with measurements and construction of an Easel Card.

Forever and Always

I recently attended a Tickled Pink Party held by one of my Sherindipity Stamper’s, Erika Clark. Erika is such a wonderful hostess and supplied us with great make & take projects and her yummy Ziti was to die for. She also had plenty of pink snacks on hand. Our swaps had to have pink incorporated somehow. Here is mine:

I will post the other attendees’ swaps and all the cute gifts we received from Erika on another day. You will definitely be impressed – everyone had such beautiful projects. But first let me tell you alittle about mine.  I made the wrap using Pretty in Pink CS and the measurements for the main piece are 4″x12″ with scorings at 3″, 7″ and 8″. The scoring at 3″ will be the front flap of your project and I embossed that flap using the new Adorning Accents Textured Impressions Embossing Folder which gave it that cute little scallop edging. Punched a trim using Island Indigo CS and the Scallop Trim Border Punch. I adhered the trim to the back of the front flap and Sticky Stripped it down closing my wrap. I adhered a strip of the new Twitterpatted Designer Series Paper to the top and ran a length of the new Blushing Bride pleated satin ribbon across it. Stamped my images using the Take it to Heart Stamp set. The same one I used on yesterday’s project. Hearts were punched out with the Hearts Collection Framelits Dies and the Heart Punch. Added some bling with the new 8 mm Large Pearl Basic Jewels and a Blushing Bride Designer Button from the Twitterpated collection. Forever and Always is from the new Loving Thoughts stamp set and I received the stamp set as part of my Leadership package.

I filled my swaps with Rice Krispie heart treats that I made with my grandson, Andrew. We had fun making them, and as you can see he wanted to be completely hands on in the cooking process. We also cut out the centers and added one of the yummy gummy heart candies from yesterday’s project. Sorry I didn’t get a final pic, but we had to get them into the cello bags before they dried out. I used SU’s flat medium cello bags and they fit perfectly.

I can’t wait to cook in the kitchen with my other grandson, Owen, too but it will be alittle while yet.  Andrew will be 3 in March and I am so impressed with how smart he is already. Whenever we say goodbye to each other, we always say I love you and then we say Forever and Ever!  His sounds sorta like this: I love you Mimi! And then he says Foreva and eva! Melts my heart every time.

Love that kid and his smile!

Sorry about the sugar tasting Mommy! But we couldn’t resist.

He showed me some love in the pic with his cookie cutter! Isn’t he just adorable! I Heart him back. He actually even helped me with my swap applying dimensionals to the backs of the hearts.

On our way home from the party, I  took a pic in the town of St. Michaels – I found out the residents could purchase a heart for a $50 donation to a local charity and then they got to display their hearts on the telephone poles in town displaying their love to the world! What a great idea!

I also passed by a cute little candy store – do you think they may be wishing for snow on Valentine’s Day?

Supplies:  Stamp Sets:  Take it to Heart and Loving Thoughts; Cardstock:  Pretty in Pink, Island Indigo and Whisper White; DSP: Twitterpated;  Ink:  Blushing Bride; Marker:  Island Indigo; Accessories:  Big Shot, Hearts Collection Framelits Dies, Adorning Accents Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Twitterpated Designer Buttons, Blushing Bridge 3/8″ Pleated Satin Ribbon, Sticky Strip, Scallop Trim Border and Heart Punches, Paper Snips, Basic Pearls and Large Pearl Basic Jewels, Mini Glue Dots, Linen Thread and Stampin’ Dimensionals.

All Wrapped Up in a Pretty Package!

I love wrapping Christmas presents! Don’t you?  And doesn’t this card look just lovely as a glittery package? Stampin’ Up!’s awesome Silver Glimmer paper makes it just perfect combined with the Cherry Cobbler ribbon. I’ve adorned the little bells with rhinestones and outlined them with two-way glue and applied Dazzling Diamonds glitter to really make them shine.

Speaking of gifts I am off to finish up the last of my Christmas shopping for my family. We are having Christmas at Thanksgiving this year since my daughter, Lindsey, is due to deliver my second grandchild on December 20.  I better get going – so much to do!

Come to Bethlehem

I’m working into the wee hours at my Stamp/Scrap Retreat on next week’s Holiday Stamp A Stack cards and here is one of the cards which will be featured in that class. The “Come to Bethlehem”stamp set features the Three Wise Men as they are guided by a star to the New Born King. Perfect Plum along with our Brushed Gold Cardstock makes for sheer elegance and is definitely fit for a king! I love our Brushed Gold Cardstock because the color is throughout the paper even when cut – no white edges showing on this paper. The main image and the saying is stamped with Versamark Ink and embossed with Stampin’ Up!’s new Pewter Embossing Powder featured in the Holiday Mini Catalog.  I thought the right side of the card was looking alittle bare so I added the gold on gold strip which has been punched with the Scallop Trim Border punch and then finished off that corner with some Basic Pearls.  My last two Holiday Card Stamp A Stacks will be held on November 17 and 22 from 6-10 p.m.  See you there!

Supplies:  Stamp Set: Come to Bethlehem; Cardstock:  Perfect Plum, Brushed Gold, and Whisper White; Ink:  Perfect Plum and Versamark; Accessories:  Decorative Label Punch, Modern Label Punch, Basic Pearls, Mini Glue Dots, Scallop Trim Border Punch, Perfect Plum 3/8″ Taffeta Ribbon, 5/8″ Whisper White Organza Ribbon, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Pewter Embossing Powder, and Heat Embossing Gun.

A Doily Christmas

Do you remember your Grandma’s doilies?  I do, and my mom had some as well and I think I even have some of them tucked away in a box with some of my other momentos. They sure bring back memories. Well it seems doilies are making a comeback. And Stampin’ Up! has a beautiful large background stamp called “Hello, Doily” and it sure is a beaut! It sells for only $17.95.  This is the first time I am using it and I think I will be coming up with a class real soon in its honor.

I’m sorry I couldn’t get a better picture, but because of the brushed gold paper and embossing it did not come out as well as I would have liked it to.  A new camera is on my holiday list.  Hey hubbie, did you hear that?!  Anyway, here is another photo so you can get a better look at that doily.  This is another card from my Holiday Card Stamp A
Stack and if you missed last week’s class you can still take it on September 29!  The class fee of $20.00 includes a roll of that beautiful Very Vanilla Velvet Stitched Ribbon as well as another new product from the Holiday Mini Catalog.

Supplies:  Stamp Sets:  Hand-Penned Holidays and Hello, Doily; Cardstock:  Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla and Brushed Gold; Craft Ink:  Whisper White and Chocolate Chip; Accessories:  Embossing Gun, Clear Embossing Powder, 3/8″ Very Vanilla Velvet Stitched Ribbon, Antique Brads, Sticky Strip, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Standard Hole Punch.

Holiday Horsin’ Around!

Isn’t this just the cutest little Hobby Horse ever!  I was inspired by Jackie Topa’s hobby horse on Stampin’ Connection, the stamper’s showcase on the demonstrator website.  The top of the horse is actually a holiday stocking stamped from Stampin’ Up!’s new Stitched Stockings stamp set and then punched out with the coordinating Stocking Builder Punch. I love it!  His mane is made from Early Espresso Baker’s Twine and the stick itself is a little red coffee stirrer that I covered in sticky strip and then dipped in Dazzling Diamonds glitter. How’s that for being creative?! I then wrapped the stick in Early Espresso 1/8″ Taffeta Ribbon. And how about that Red Glimmer Paper!! Absolutely gorgeous!

Supplies:  Stamp Set:  Stitched Stockings and Four the Holidays; Cardstock:  Early Espresso, Crumb Cake, and Very Vanilla; Ink:  Early Espresso; Accessories:  Big Shot, Perfect Polka Dots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Stocking Builder Punch, 1/8″ Early Espresso Taffeta Ribbon, Basic Pearls, Early Espresso Bakers Twine, Sticky Strip, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Dazzling Diamonds, Red Glimmer Paper and Red Coffee Stirrer.

Giving Thanks Tags

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

I got really pumped this week and decorated my house for Autumn. It all started when I made a tag for my Open House make & takes.  I made it to fit on one of my grapevine pumpkins.  I then made a different style to go on my candle holders.  I used the Stampin’ Up! wood sheets for the bases of both projects. I used the Two Tags die with my Big Shot for the long tag and then I used the 2-3/8″ Scallop Circle Punch for the other tag.  I was actually surprised the punch worked on the wood sheets! Who knew!  I then used these great Autumn ink colors for the leaves on the tags:  Cajun Craze, Baha Breeze and Early Espresso. I gave the Baha Breeze background some texture with the Square Lattice Textured Impressions Embossing Folder along with my Big Shot.  And that beautiful stamped saying “Give Thanks” is from the new Hand-Penned Holidays stamp set in the Holiday Mini Catalog. I will be using that set again for my Holiday Card Stamp A Stack this Thursday, September 22 from 6-10 p.m..  If you haven’t signed up there is still time. I’ve also added an additional class to make the same cards on Thursday, September 29, in case you can’t make the first.  I will be doing this for all of my Holiday Card Stamp A Stacks this season. It seems that everyone is so busy these days, you could all use a second option!

Supplies:  Stamp Sets:  Gently Falling, Hand-Penned Holidays (large tag) and Fabulous Phrases (small tag); Cardstock: Cajun Craze and Baha Breeze; Ink:  Early Espresso, Baha Breeze, and Cajun Craze; Marker:  Cajun Craze; Accessories:  Color Sprizter Tool, Early Espresso 5/8″ Satin Ribbon, Crop-A-Dile, Basic Pearls, Big Shot,Square Lattice Textured Impressions Embossing Folder,  2-3/8″ Scallop Circle Punch, and Sponge Daubers.

Holiday Goodies are in the House!

My Holiday Open House will be held on September 17 and 18 – two whole days for you to check out new products from the Holiday Mini Catalog!   Its from 10 am to 6 pm both days.  I’ll have a display of projects using new products such as this one shown here.  It’s from the stamp set “Snow Much Fun” and features that luscious Very Vanilla velvet ribbon and Spice Cake designer series paper and buttons. And click on the photo to enlarge the photo and check out how those Basic Pearls look like they are tiny glass balls suspended on the Christmas tree!   It’s not your typical Christmas card but I love the pearls, paper and buttons. If you are into the more traditional Christmas cards there are also other new designer series papers for that as well such as Frostwood Lodge and Holly Berry Bouquet.

You’ll also be able to sign up for product shares and my holiday classes I will be offering this fall.  There will be giveaways all weekend so you won’t want to miss out. Earn Sherindipity Dollars for any new catalog purchases you make at my Open House and use later towards all your holiday wish list items. Attend my Open House and find out all the details. I will also pick a mystery hostess from all purchases made during my Open House and that person will be able to choose free product from either new catalog. Light refreshments will be served.  Please RSVP by September 15!

Supplies:  Stamp Set:  Snow Much Fun; Cardstock:  Soft Suede, Pool Party, Very Vanilla, Whisper White, and More Mustard; Ink:  Soft Suede; Marker:  Pool Party and More Mustard; DSP:  Spice Cake; Accessories:  Linen Thread, 3/8″ Velvet Stitched Ribbon, Basic Pearls, More Mustard Flower Brad, Spice Cake Designer Button, 1-1/4″ Circle Punch, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Snow Burst Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Big Shot, and Paper Snips.

Glittery Goodness!

Glittery Goodness!

The Christmas Holidays are always filled with yummy goodies so why not share this glittery goodness with your friends and family when they come to visit.  Place them on a nightstand or on their pillows right before retiring for the evening.  These little glittery boxes hold four Hershey nuggets wrapped with a Merry message stamped using the new “Its a Wrap Holidays” stamp set.  The messages from this stamp set are stamped on an Avery 8160 label.  However, before you wrap your nugget, make a belly band around your nugget with cardstock, then wrap with your stamped label.  The Hershey Chocolates Co.  has advised against wrapping the chocolates directly with the label as the adhesive on the labels can be absorbed into the chocolate through the wrapper and distort the taste of the chocolate. So be sure to wrap them first with cardstock so they remain food safe please!

Since I had a bit of a problem photographing this little box because of all its glittery goodness, I ended up having to take it outside so there wasn’t so much glare, but then ended up with a bit of a shadow on the side.  I suggest you click on the photo to get a closer look at all the details and those cute little birds on the branch.  I used the Bigz XL Matchbox die for the box and the Frostwood Lodge Designer Series Paper covers the top and bottom and then wrapped with Cherry Cobbler Scallop Dots Ribbon.  Ahhh – there’s that new Silver Glimmer paper again. Doesn’t it just sparkle!

The birds on the limb are stamped with the new Christmas Lodge stamp set in Cherry Cobbler ink.  I added extra sparkle to the branch with the new Dazzling Details irredescent glitter glue, a rhinestone in the flower, and a few of the new Mini Jingle Bells on a Cherry Cobbler Baker’s Twine bow.  Simply delectable!

Supplies:  Stamp Sets:  Christmas Lodge, It’s A Wrap Holidays and You’re a Gem; Cardstock:  Cherry Cobbler, Whisper White and Garden Green; Ink:  Cherry Cobbler and Garden Green; Designer Series Paper:  Christmas Lodge; Accessories:  Big Shot, Bigz XL Matchbox Die, Cherry Cobbler Baker’s Twine, Mini Jingle Bells, Dazzling Details, Rhinestones, Dimensionals, Mini Glue Dots and 1/2″ Cherry Cobbler Scallop Dots Ribbon.

A Halloween Hoot!

My Friend, Hootie!

Hoot! Hoot! Isn’t this owl the cutest? Especially with that cute little trick or treat bag!  And look at those masked eyes filled with mischievous rhinestones – he is definitely ready for a night out on the town full of Halloween fun.  This little guy is from the hostess set “Warmest of Wishes” featured in the upcoming Holiday Mini Catalog which can be purchased with FREE hostess dollars earned at a holiday party or workshop.

The background paper featured on this card is from the new Designer Series Paper pack called “Pick Your Poison” which coordinates with the new stamp set “Piece of Poison”.  I got my “Trick or Treat” saying from this set which includes some other really creepy stamps great for making all of your Halloween creations.

That beautiful black border at the top of the card was made using the new Lace Ribbon Border Punch and the finishing touch was the new Basic Black Scallop Dots Ribbon which I ruffled a bit before placing the Designer Printed Brad in Calypso Coral.  I like my new owl friend, I think I will call him Hootie!

Supplies:  Stamp Sets:  Warmest of Wishes and Piece of Poison; Cardstock:  Pumpkin Pie and Whisper White; Ink:  Basic Black; Marker:  Pumpkin Pie; Designer Series Paper:  Pick your Poison; Accessories:  Owl Builder Punch, Lace Ribbon Border Punch, 1/2″ Basic Black Scallop Dots Ribbon, Designer Printed Brads, Rhinestones, and Dimensionals

Holiday Dreaming!

Frostwood Lodge Snowman

It’s that most special time of the year that Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators dream about!  The new Holiday Mini Catalog is upon us and one of the great things about being a demonstrator is getting access to the products from this catalog one whole month ahead of the release of the catalog so we can begin preparing great holiday projects to share with all of you!  So today’s card is one of the holiday cards which will be featured in an upcoming Christmas Club class.  I will be releasing information on this new club later this month so if you haven’t subscribed to my blog yet, do so today so you don’t miss out on the details.

Today’s card uses the new Frostwood Lodge Designer Series Paper and features these cute gingham squares in Garden Green.  It really stands out when paired with Real Red CS.  Peeking out from behind Mr. Snowman and punched out with the Scallop Circle punch is our new Silver Glimmer paper which is absolutely glittery! Don’t think that is a word, but is so appropriate when describing this paper.  It’s the best glitter paper ever since it does not flake or chip off when you cut or punch it.  It’s already available in red in the 2011-2012 Idea Book & Catalog.  This card was originally designed as a make & take for my downline meeting this past weekend, but I like it so much it will be making an appearance in one of my Christmas Club classes.  Let me know what you think of the new holiday products and check back each day this week as I will be featuring new products every day!

Supplies:  Stamp Sets:  Snow Much Fun and Warmest of Wishes; Cardstock:  Real Red, Garden Green and Whisper White; Designer Series Paper:  Frostwood Lodge; Accessories:  5/8″ Real Red Satin Ribbon, Punches: 1-3/4″ Circle, 2-1/2″ Circle, 2-3/8″ Scallop Circle, Big Shot, Circles #2 Originals Die, Silver Glimmer Paper and Dimensionals.
