Tea for Two!

Yes, Please! Isn’t this teacup from Stampin’ Up!’s new stamp set, “Tea Shoppe”, absolutely wonderful?  The pansies on the cup are so delicate and are one of my favorite flowers – as a young girl I remember my mom planting them every year in our garden. This card is a great way to invite a friend over for tea and cookies and a chat come Springtime.  Yes, I know we are just coming up on winter, but we can plan ahead, can’t we?  Make a couple of these cards, then set aside a few days in March to invite a friend over, each on their very own special day. We are all so busy and our calendars get filled so fast these days, why not send them out now so you can make sure everyone’s date on their calendar is available, including yours! Get some girl time in! There are two new products featured here, along with the Tea Shoppe stamp set:  the Framelits Dies – Labels Collection and Embosslits Die – Fashionable Hearts. They become available for purchase on January 4 from the new Mini Occasions Catalog!

Supplies:  Stamp Sets:  Tea Shoppe and Itty Bitty Backgrounds (Retired) or you can use the Color Spritzer Tool with a marker; Cardstock:  Wisteria Wonder, Elegant Eggplant, Pink Pirouette, and Confetti White; Ink:  Wisteria Wonder, Elegant Eggplant and Pink Pirouette; Accessories:  Textured Impressions Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder, Pink Pirouette 3/8″ Taffeta Ribbon, Mini Glue Dots, Paper Snips, Rhinestones, Blender Pen, Stampin’ Dimensionals and Sponges, and Framelits Dies – Labels Collection and Embosslits Die – Fashionable Hearts.

And the Wedding Plans Continue!

I wanted to make a really special wedding shower card for my daughter, Lindsey’s shower, and have been saving this stamp for just this occasion. It’s from the stamp set “Full of Life” which features 7 stamps with some wonderful sayings like the one featured on this card.  The culmination of Lindsey and Jake’s fairytale will come to fruition on 10-10-10 at the reaffirmation of their wedding vows.  It will indeed be a special day for them as well as for the rest of the family.  This card continues the Vineyard wedding theme using the Vintage Vogue stamp set and the vine stamp along with  the Old Olive and Elegant Eggplant colors.

Lindsey’s Wedding Shower Invite

I loved adding the little heart on our new mini vintage tags as it adds a little special touch to this card.  I have also finished the wedding invitations  (all 97 of them) and will show that a little later. I am now starting on the centerpieces, favors and prizes for the wedding shower.  I will probably need a new scallop punch after punching all those scallops to make flowers for the centerpieces.  I have had that punch for several years and it has been used in many workshops and classes and I think it has seen better days.  No fear as I am looking forward  to purchasing a new one in our great new punch design that is so easy to store. Check out this punch and more on my website at

Supplies:  Stamp Sets:  Vintage Vogue and Full of Life; Cardstock:  Old Olive, Elegant Eggplant, and Very Vanilla; Ink:  Old Olive and Elegant Eggplant; Accessories:  Heart to Heart Punch, Very Vanilla Taffeta Ribbon, Linen Thread, Dimensionals, Medium Vanilla Envelopes, Mini Vintage Tags.

Woodland Baby Shower Invite

My daughter, Lindsey, is holding a baby shower for her friend/cousin/maid of honor, Ashley, next weekend. Here’s a pic of the two of them:

Ashley and Lindsey

Ashley is due to deliver her baby girl in September.  Lindsey e-mailed me a pic of Ashley’s bedding for the baby’s room shown here:

Woodland Bedding

As soon as I saw the bedding, I knew which stamp set would be perfect!  Forest Friends – it has a cute little deer that matches the bedding.  And here is what I came up with.

Forest Friends - Baby Deer Shower Card

I hate to admit it, but I didn’t own this stamp set, however, one of my downline, Betsy, did and she willingly let me borrow it for a couple of weeks while I worked on the invites.  Love the Polka Dot Embossing Folder which made the cute little raised dotted design on the base of the card. I added an additional little something extra on the envelope – this cute little bunny from the same set.  Ashley is a lucky girl as this will be her third shower – she probably won’t need to buy anything additional for her little girl, Tenley Kate Raymond.

Supplies:  Stamp Set:  Forest Friends and Tiny Tags, Cardstock:  Very Vanilla, Kraft, Certainly Celery, Pretty in Pink  and Chocolate Chip; Ink:  Chocolate Chip; Accessories:  Big Shot, Polka Dots Embossing Folder, Eyelet Border Punch, Jewelry Tag Punch, Boho Blossoms Punch, Standard Hole Punch, Linen Thread, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Very Vanilla Medium Envelopes, and Masterpiece Ribbon Originals.  Some ribbon and cardstock used in the making of this card is now retired, but can be substituted with some of Stampin’ Up!’s new colors quite easily.

Andrew’s 1st Birthday Party Invitation

It’s my grandson’s first birthday on March 12, 2010! Here’s a great pic of the two of us at Christmas:

Andrew and I

As a way to stay in touch, my daughter and I Skype over the internet every day so I can see, talk and sing to Andrew.  Since they live an hour and half away, I was worried he wouldn’t know his grandma on the other side of the Bay Bridge, but Skype sure makes it a whole lot easier.  His face lights up every time he sees me over the internet or in person. He is the little love of my life and I couldn’t wait to make his party invitations.  He is quite the little monkey these days so his mom wanted to use that as his theme for the party.  I used the cute monkey stamp from the Fox and Friends stamp set featured in the Occasions Mini Catalog and some of the striped designer series paper from the Simply Scrappin’ Kit “Happy B-Day”.  I will use the rest of the Scrappin’ Kit to make a banner for the party and some scrapbook pages using pictures from his party. I will post pics of those later.  But for now here is the party invite  – sorry I had to block some of it out for privacy reasons.

Monkey Party Invitation

You can also find the same little animal friends from the Fox and Friends stamp set in the Definitely Decorative Catalog as part of their Decor Elements product line in the “Nursery Alphabet”.  The Decor Elements are great vinyl rub-ons for your wall, furniture or just about anything else you want to adhere them to. They peel off easily when you want to change the decor.  Check out the Definitely Decorative Catalog on my sidebar for the Nursery Alphabet and many more designs.

Stamp Sets:  Fox and Friends; Cardstock:  Ruby Red, Whisper White, Brocade Blue, Crushed Curry; Accessories:  Rich Regal Brads, Punches:  1-3/8″ Circle, Scallop Circle and Round Tab; Scrappin’ Kit:  Happy B-Day (striped Designer Series Paper)
