Fabulous Florets!

Fabulous Florets

That’s the name of this stamp set – and it really is fabulous in Tangerine Tango and Daffodil Delight!  This is the third Thank You card from my recent Stamp-A-Stack and is my favorite of the bunch.  And I don’t want to forget to mention that beautiful Designer Series Paper layered across this 6″x3″ card – it’s Beyond the Garden.

What’s that you ask? Does Stampin’ Up! sell envelopes for that type of card? In fact, they do, they are called Small Open-End Envelopes and they are sold on page 182 of the 2011-2012 Idea Book & Catalog.  I like to do this type of card just to do something different from the standard 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ card.

That cute wording is from the Happy Greetings set available in the Summer Mini Catalog only through the end of August.  The little Wild Wasabi heart adds a special meaning for the closest of friends.

Add this Designer Series Paper to your list of favorite background papers and don’t forget to take advantage of the Buy 3, Get 1 FREE during the month of August.  Check out the promotions page on my website at www.sherahlweadon.stampinup.net.

The Open Sea is Neverending

The Open Sea Trio

Yes, neverending in the number of cards you can create using this stamp set!  Once again you can see how versatile this stamp set is!  These three cards I created for my baggie sampler with my Sherindipity Stampers Group.  We all created three cards with new stamp sets from the Summer Mini Catalog.    I wanted to make cards that were easily duplicatable for my downline to use in their workshops.  As most of my customers know, I have a very hard time making “easy” cards.  I love techniques and adding embellishments so most of my cards are not this easy! LOL!

I used bits of the Nautical Expedition Designer Series Paper on two of them.  But mostly, I stamped my backgrounds with just plain old stamping.

Remember When

This first card uses one of my favorite embellishments – an Antique Brad as well the new Cherry Cobbler Baker’s Twine. The wording says it all for this card – it’s from the stamp set Word Play.

The World

The second card was quick to come together by randomly stamping the images from The Open Sea stamp set all over a Basic Gray card base in Night of Navy ink.  Such great stamps to work with in this set to do random stamping.  This is how I first started stamping.  Didn’t really have a great selection of designer background papers like we do now so we had to make our own backgrounds with stamps.  I stamped the wording again in Cherry Cobbler so I could punch out the “world” and popped it up on a dimensional.

Perfect Adventure

The third card combines random stamping of the compass using Whisper White Craft Ink and paired it with Designer Series Paper in rich Cherry Cobbler striping.  I did however pull a word stamp from another stamp set featured in the Summer Mini Catalog – On the Grow.  Used that awesome Cherry Cobbler Baker’s Twine Again.  It’s a great deal at 25 yards for only $2.95!

Card 3 Supplies:  Stamp Set:  The Open Sea and Word Play; Cardstock:  Night of Navy, Cherry Cobbler, Whisper White and Basic Gray; Ink:  Whisper White Craft Ink and Night of Navy; Designer Series Paper:  Nautical Expedition; Accessories:  Dimensionals and Cherry Cobbler Baker’s Twine.

Elegant Paisley Petals!

Paisley Petals Thank You

True elegance is what you get when you choose this Designer Series Paper! Stampin’ Up! always has such beautiful two-sided background papers – you never know which side to choose from. But the choice was right with this simple thank you card I designed for a recent Stamp-A-Stack class I held.  I pick a different theme each month for my stamp-a-stacks and this one focused on thank you cards.  With this background paper you don’t need bows or any other fancy embellishments and that makes it easy to give this card to a guy or a gal. For this card I chose to frame out my “thank you” with one of the frames from the stamp set “Four Frames”. It was just the right touch. Don’t you think?

If you would like to attend my next Stamp-A-Stack class, it will be held on August 25 from 7-10 p.m. and will feature the new Ronald McDonald House Charity Stamp Set called Turtle & Co.  $2.00 from the purchase of each stamp set is donated by Stampin’ Up! to Ronald McDonald House Charities.  Hope you can come!

Love the paper used on this card?  Stampin’ Up! has a special for the month of August – buy 3 packs of Designer Series Paper and get an additional pack for FREE!  Check out all the different papers to choose from in the new 2011-2012 Idea Book and Catalog on pages 184 to 186, but don’t forget about the Nautical Expedition DSP from the Summer Mini Catalog on page 8.   Try not to drool too much!  They are a great buy at only $10.95 each!
My personal favorite in the new catalog is the new Mocha Morning Specialty DSP which we’ll be using in my upcoming Kindness Matters Stationery Kit Stamp Camp on August 14 from 1-6 p.m.  Unfortunately, this is a Specialty DSP and is not included in the DSP special.  My other favorites include:  Beau Chateau, Well Worn, Beyond the Garden, and Big Top Birthday.  Click on the Idea Book & Catalog on my right side bar to order your DSP today!
Supplies:  Stamp Sets:  Four Frames and Because I Care (retired hostess set but thank you stamp can easily be switched out with another stamp); Cardstock:  Night of Navy, Cherry Cobbler and Very Vanilla;  Designer Series Paper:  Paisley Petals; Inks:  Night of Navy and Cherry Cobbler; Accessories: Decorative Label Punch, Ovals Originals Die, Big Shot, and Scallop Edge Border Punch.
INTERESTED IN ATTENDING ONE OF MY UPCOMING CLASSES?  Check out all the details on my events page on my demonstrator website at www.sherahlweadon.stampinup.net.

Pearls of Hope

I love the new Strength and Hope stamp set to benefit The Breast Cancer Research Foundation. The elegant butterfly especially. I wanted to make a threesome of cards using Stampin’ Up!’s Basic Pearls and Regal Rose ink and cardstock which would also add to the elegance of this set.  Stampin’ Up! has always been a great benefactor of many charities over the years with special edition stamp sets and this one has to be my absolute favorite.  They will be donating $2.00 from every purchase of this stamp set to BCRF.  If you would like to purchase this set, it becomes available May 1 in the Summer Mini Catalog for $17.95 for wood mount and $13.95 for clear mount.  These are quick and easy cards using only a minimal amount of supplies.  Hope you like them!

Supplies: Stamp Set: Strength and Hope; Cardstock: Regal Rose and Whisper White; Ink: Regal Rose; Accessories: Basic Pearls, Whisper White 5/8″ Organza Ribbon, 1/16″ Handheld Circle Punch, 1-1/4″ Circle Punch, 1-3/8″ Circle Punch, Eyelet Border Punch, 3 Flower Punch (retired – you can use either the Boho Blossoms or the flower from the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack) and Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Summer Treats!

Fourth of July Treat Box

The Heat is on and Summer is upon us! What a great time to make treats for your guests at an upcoming BBQ or picnic. I found this great star-spangled salt water taffy candy from Super Fresh Supermarket and wanted to make a Fourth of July box treat that everyone would enjoy. I did the same design on both sides of the box so you can see the candy from both sides.  I used the Fancy Favor die to make the box on my Big Shot.  I then used the brand new 2-3/8″ Scallop Circle Extra Large punch that is available for purchase  today in the new Stampin’ Up! Catalog. I love the way it frames out the candy!  Here’s how to make the scallop frame:  Using the 2-3/8″ Circle Punch, punch a circle out of a piece of Real Red scrap CS. Set the punched circle aside and use the piece of cardstock with the hole punched out.  Then line up the new Scallop Circle punch around your punched out circle and punch again and you will have a Scallop Circle Frame for the center of your box. Save the circle you punched out for a future project.

We made the July 4th treat boxes at my downline meeting last Saturday along with this picnic treat.

Raspberry Treat

No, they are not real raspberries, but gummy ones!  There are made by the same company, Haribo, that makes gummy bears and sold in the gold bags at most discount stores.  My downline told me I always find the coolest candy.  I have to admit any time I go shopping I end up in the candy aisle looking for something new to create with!  I’m always matching candy with Stampin’ Up!’s cardstock and inks which will now be so much easier because I can take my new Color Coach with me. It looks similar to a paint store color swatch and it will be available for order starting today for $14.95.  It features all Stampin’ Up!’s new colors along with numerous different color combinations.  Great for making all your card and scrapbooking creations coordinate.  If you would like a copy of the new Stampin’ Up! Catalog for FREE along with FREE hostess benefits, book your workshop today. My workshops typically feature 3-4 hands-on projects for everyone to complete and take home.  So get your friends and family together this summer for a fun time of stamping!  I am also available for one-on-one consultations to help you design  ideas for your next event.
