I Prefer Treats over Tricks!

I love Halloween! In fact, my daughter, Lindsey, was born on Halloween and was definitely my treat that year.  Since then we have had many halloween birthday parties but one in particular I remember making a paper mache bat pinata.  It had so much glue in it no one could break the pinata. LOL! One of the dads ended up having to break it open so the kids could get to the candy. A little disappointing to the kids, but my daughter and I sure had fun making our first pinata together. Lesson learned – less glue!

I made this cute little treat box for a shoebox swap I attended yesterday with some other ladies from my upline and sideline.  However, you can make it too if you attend my Fall Stamp Camp on Saturday, October 8 from 2-6 p.m.  I’ll have three other fun fall projects as well for $15.00.  Check out the details of my Fall Stamp Camp on my demonstrator website events calendar at www.sherahlweadon.stampinup.net soon!

I used Stampin’ Up!’s new Kraft Gift boxes for the base of my project. These are a deal at 4 boxes for only $2.95. I used the Pick Your Poison Designer Series Paper pack to decorate all sides and inside the top lid.  I then stamped my pumpkins using the Jack of All Trades stamp set. Love that witch hat and rhinestone bling for his eyes!

Supplies:  Stamp Sets:  Jack of All Trades, Piece of Poison, and Got Treats; Cardstock: Very Vanilla and Basic Black; Designer Series Paper:  Pick Your Poison; Ink:  Basic Black, Pumpkin Pie, Early Espresso, and Old Olive; Accessories:  Large and Small Tag Punches, Kraft Gift Boxes, 1/8″ Basic Black Taffeta Ribbon, 1/2″ Basic Black Scallop Dots Ribbon, Sticky Strip, Basic Rhinestones, Medium Flat Cellow Bags, Linen Thread, Paper Piercing Tool or 1/16″ Circle Punch, Halloween Candy and Lollipop Sticks.

Candy by the Inch!

8 Inches of yummy candy that is! Stampin’ Up!’s new 1″x8″ Cellophane Bags are great for showcasing small candy or even pencils for any holiday. I’ve filled my Halloween goody bags with m&m’s and Juju candy corn.  Can you image the expressions on the kid’s faces when they come trick or treating at your house this year?  You’ll be able to find the cellophane bags in the new Holiday Mini.  There are 50 in a package for $2.50!  The stamped images are from the new stamp set called Spooky Bingo Bits and you can find it in the new 2011-2012 IB&C. I’ve added a bit of ribbon to finish off each of the toppers.

Glittery Goodness!

Glittery Goodness!

The Christmas Holidays are always filled with yummy goodies so why not share this glittery goodness with your friends and family when they come to visit.  Place them on a nightstand or on their pillows right before retiring for the evening.  These little glittery boxes hold four Hershey nuggets wrapped with a Merry message stamped using the new “Its a Wrap Holidays” stamp set.  The messages from this stamp set are stamped on an Avery 8160 label.  However, before you wrap your nugget, make a belly band around your nugget with cardstock, then wrap with your stamped label.  The Hershey Chocolates Co.  has advised against wrapping the chocolates directly with the label as the adhesive on the labels can be absorbed into the chocolate through the wrapper and distort the taste of the chocolate. So be sure to wrap them first with cardstock so they remain food safe please!

Since I had a bit of a problem photographing this little box because of all its glittery goodness, I ended up having to take it outside so there wasn’t so much glare, but then ended up with a bit of a shadow on the side.  I suggest you click on the photo to get a closer look at all the details and those cute little birds on the branch.  I used the Bigz XL Matchbox die for the box and the Frostwood Lodge Designer Series Paper covers the top and bottom and then wrapped with Cherry Cobbler Scallop Dots Ribbon.  Ahhh – there’s that new Silver Glimmer paper again. Doesn’t it just sparkle!

The birds on the limb are stamped with the new Christmas Lodge stamp set in Cherry Cobbler ink.  I added extra sparkle to the branch with the new Dazzling Details irredescent glitter glue, a rhinestone in the flower, and a few of the new Mini Jingle Bells on a Cherry Cobbler Baker’s Twine bow.  Simply delectable!

Supplies:  Stamp Sets:  Christmas Lodge, It’s A Wrap Holidays and You’re a Gem; Cardstock:  Cherry Cobbler, Whisper White and Garden Green; Ink:  Cherry Cobbler and Garden Green; Designer Series Paper:  Christmas Lodge; Accessories:  Big Shot, Bigz XL Matchbox Die, Cherry Cobbler Baker’s Twine, Mini Jingle Bells, Dazzling Details, Rhinestones, Dimensionals, Mini Glue Dots and 1/2″ Cherry Cobbler Scallop Dots Ribbon.

Gently Falling Favors

Thanksgiving Favor

Fall is one of my favorite times of year – the weather starts to cool down, the leaves start to change colors and then begin gently falling. Thanksgiving is then just around the corner.  Wouldn’t this box look great at everyone’s plate when you sit down for the best holiday dinner ever?  You may not have room for a full dessert, but you always have room for two little chocolates! Especially when they are Ghiradelli caramels.  They fit perfectly inside this box which is made with the Bitty Box w/Envelope Bigz XL Die.  It’s a charming little box with leaves from the new Gently Falling stamp set decorating it. I also used the new Spice Cake Fabric as ribbon by tearing strips of fabric and fraying it around the edges and then adhered Spice Cake DSP on the top and bottom of the box.  This box is very easy to put together and requires only a small amount of adhesive.  Falling Gently is full of different size leaves plus a little acorn. This set is a two step stamp set meaning you stamp a solid stamp image and then an overlay of an outline stamp in a different color to highlight and define the original stamped image.  I used Pumpkin Pie Ink with an overlay of Soft Suede Ink on my leaves. It’s so fun and easy to use a stamp set like this.  In addition to the two leaves stamped for the top of the box I then stamped two extra images and placed them on top of each of my chocolates for an extra flair when you open your box of chocolates.  Finished it off with a small acorn and a tag of thanks from the Fabulous Phrases stamp set.
